Using Essential Oils to Boost Confidence

In life, it is easy to get overwhelmed and worried, with anxious thoughts racing continuously in our mind. When the future seems daunting and problems seem unsurmountable, it is important to remember that we can always find a way to overcome whatever doubts we have on our minds.

Start by first breaking down the problem into smaller parts, which will make it more manageable and easier to overcome. As you navigate each step, practice mindful breathing and meditation techniques, which will calm your mind and thoughts. Give thanks and express gratitude as each goal is completed. And most importantly, remember that essential oils can be used to support your emotions and provide comfort, healing, and strength throughout your journey.

I want to share an experience I went through recently, and how essential oils, mindful breathing, and meditation helped me to regain my confidence and overcome my fears.

I have always led a very active lifestyle. Exercise is a big part of my life and I especially enjoy practicing yoga, cycling, and hiking. Over the years, regular physical activity has strengthened my mind and my body. However, in the last five years, I have sustained multiple injuries requiring operations on my left knee and both my ankles. This has been a very difficult time for me, particularly two years ago, when I had yet another injury just barely three months after an operation. I was in physical pain, and at the same time, feeling worried that I would not be able to resume the active lifestyle that I had before I was injured.

After a long period of recovery, I started to incorporate exercise into my daily routine once again. I first began with gentle and low intensity work outs, then gradually increased the frequency and intensities of my exercises. As my body grew stronger, I was able to cycle the long distances that I hadn’t been able to for a long time. Feeling confident in my physical abilities, I decided to go on a skiing trip in Japan. Although I had previously been when skiing, I enjoyed it immensely and I wanted to conquer any lingering fears.

On my first day back on the ski slopes, I sustained a fall again, shattering whatever little confidence I had built up. I was worried and anxious, not knowing if I would be able to continue skiing, or what if I had sustained yet another injury and set my progress back?

I rested for a while before heading out to the slopes again. This time, I used Nila’s “Believe” blend of essential oils, which contains Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Patchouli, and Geranium essential oils. It is a special blend that clears negative energies and brings about a complete wellness for your mind, body, and soul.

As I inhaled the essential oils, I used mindful breathing practices to stimulate my parasympathetic nervous system, reducing my stress levels and helping me to remain calm. I remembered the “humming bee” technique, where you make a low humming sound that vibrates down the back of your throat while massaging the vagus nerve that runs down both sides of your neck.

On my next few runs down the slope, I was tense and still afraid, but I persevered and did not give up. When faced with a seemingly insurmountable problem, in this case, a very steep slope and the fear of falling and sustaining an injury, I mentally broke down the slope into smaller segments which made them easier to clear. After each small problem had been overcome, I gave thanks and acknowledged the blessings of making it safely down that section, which gave me more confidence and willpower to carry on. In this way, I was able to overcome my fears and not only continue skiing, but thoroughly enjoying every minute of it instead of being tense and afraid.

When I returned home, I made a blend called “Confidence”, which includes the following essential oils:

  • Red Mandarin (Citrus reticulata C. nobilis var. deliciosa)
  • Lemongrass c/t Rhodinol (Cymbopogon citratus c/t Rhodinol): A rare variety of lemongrass essential oil, also known as rosegrass, which is high in Laevo citronellol, geraniol and nerol
  • Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)
  • Siberian Fir (Abies sibirica)
  • Arctic Spruce (Picea abies)

This is a gentle and calming blend which has a soothing yet uplifting effect on your mind. It helps to calm your nervous system, reduce negative tension, and relax your mind and body and most important to love ourselves.  Use this blend to help increase your confidence when you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
