“Trust that your soul has a plan, even if you can’t see it completely, know that everything will unfold as it is meant to be.”
– Deepak Chopra
We are already facing many stressors in our life and it seems like it just doubled when the pandemic hit. Whenever stress piles up and your gastrointestinal system gets out of hand, what can you do? How about those sleepless nights due to endless anxiety? And still feeling extremely tired even after that 2nd cup of coffee, with bloatedness that can’t be rid of? Yes, your Solar Plexus chakra may be out of balance, and you may be improperly energised by food.

The Solar Plexus, also the celiac plexus or coeliac plexus, gets its name because of its radiating nerve fibers. This bunch of nerve plexus connects back and branches out from the vagus nerve, which relates to your nervous system – where your system rests and digests, or activates in a fight or flight mode. This third Chakra* in the seven main chakra system, Maṇipūra, is the chakra of personal power, expression of will and mental abilities. Located on the upper part of the belly, where our diaphragm rests, it governs issues of personal power, fear, anxiety, emotions. Physically, the pancreas, the digestive system’s organs, and the adrenal glands. Imbalance in this chakra may result in low self-esteem, difficulty in making decisions, may have anger or control issues, tiredness, fatigue, eating disorders, ulcers, diabetes, pancreatic-liver-colon issues.
*Chakras are “wheels of energy throughout the body”. They are energy centers within the human body that help to regulate all its processes, from organ function to the immune system and emotions. It can be simply activated by inhaling the scent of essential oils in the form of subtle aromatherapy.
Balancing the Solar Plexus can allow you to be empowered as you connect with your true purpose. Go for anything yellow or gold to enhance your sense of personal power. Calm your digestive fire by avoiding icy beverages, not overeating, and have enough digestion time in between meals. Diffuse a synergetic essential oil blend and meditate on the colour yellow with the affirmation of “I can – I will – I do. There is nothing I cannot achieve. I am worthy of my own love”. Do a tummy massage or practice Bhastrika breathing exercise can also help to enhance digestive activities to increase metabolism (Please make sure you are not full when you practice this).
