The Root, the first Chakra* in the seven main chakra system, is known as Mūlādhāra; the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. This is the base of the chakra system and lays the foundation for expansion in your life. Located at the base of the spine, it is the source of your life force energy, as it governs family ties and feelings of survival, belonging and guardedness. Imbalance in the root chakra may result in symptoms such as lack of focus, restlessness, depression, anxiety, guilt, resentment, constipation, kidney stones, circulatory issues, sciatica.
*Chakras are “wheels of energy throughout the body”. They are energy centers within the human body that help to regulate all its processes, from organ function to the immune system and emotions. It can be simply activated by inhaling the scent of essential oils in the form of subtle aromatherapy.
Balancing the Root is as simple as connecting to the Nature, meditating on the colour red with the affirmation of “I am Present, I am Strong, I am exactly where I need to be”, and practice a simple breathing exercise using selected essential oils or synergetic blend.
