Root Chakra: Rising in Difficult Times

COVID-19 – this unfathomable coronavirus has impacted us globally, and we have changed our way of living our lives, as if it is here to stay… at least for longer than we have expected. This sudden wave of pandemic has affected people mentally in many ways – from experiencing fear, immense anxiety, stress, frustration, grief, guilt, to the extend of the challenging their productivity, relationships, and even their sense of optimism and positivity.

During difficult times, we often have to manage your health – mentally and physically – in order to root yourself and to rise in challenging times.

Aroma can have a powerful influence to calm you down, breathe deeply and focus on your present moment before you continue with your “new normal” life. Remind yourself to stay grounded in the present moment, acknowledge your tasks at hand, focus on what you can control and keep moving on. Work on growing your ”roots” is very important to combat negativity, paranoia, insecurity, fear and health issues that comes with it.

The Root, the first Chakra* in the seven main chakra system, is known as Mūlādhāra; the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. This is the base of the chakra system and lays the foundation for expansion in your life. Located at the base of the spine, it is the source of your life force energy, as it governs family ties and feelings of survival, belonging and guardedness. Imbalance in the root chakra may result in symptoms such as lack of focus, restlessness, depression, anxiety, guilt, resentment, constipation, kidney stones, circulatory issues, sciatica.
